Aztec gods in DESTRIPANDO LA HISTORIA STYLE

ENGLISH

Destripando La Historia is a franchise made up of songs that, for the most part, tell the stories of different mythological figures. Its most famous and most extensive series is the Greek saga.

And although Destripando La Historia has explored different cultures, as of the time of writing, they have yet to adapt any Mesoamerican gods. So I came up with the idea of designing a couple of Mexica gods in the style of this beloved musical franchise.

ESPAÑOL

Destripando La Historia es una franquicia compuesta por canciones que, en su mayoría, se encargan de relatar las historias ligadas a diferentes personajes mitológicos. Su serie más famosa y completa siendo la saga griega.

Y aunque si bien Destripando La Historia ha ahondado en diferentes culturas, hasta el momento en que escribo esto aún no han adaptado a los dioses mesoamericanos. Así que se me ocurrió diseñar un par de dioses mexicas en el estilo de esta franquicia musical tan querida.

Tlaloc's life is a little boring. Every day, he has to keep his powers in check to avoid causing floods that could wipe out entire civilizations. That's why, whenever a mortal city offends a pantheon, the god of thunder and rain is the first to volunteer to punish them, because nothing feels better than unleashing 100% of his divine powers in a massive flood to relieve some stress.

ESPAÑOL

La vida de Tlaloc es un poco aburrida, todos los días debe contener su poder para evitar provocar inundaciones que pueden destruir civilizaciones enteras. Por eso, cuando alguna ciudad mortal ofende a algún panteón, el dios del trueno y la lluvia es el primero en ofrecerse para castigarlos, pues nada es mejor que liberar el 100% de sus capacidades celestiales en un diluvio para calmar el estrés.

MICTLANTECUHTLI

ENGLISH

Mictlantecuhtli is a man of few words, deeply absorbed in his work. He can be somewhat proud and a little stubborn, which makes him far from easy to deal with. Even so, deep down, he has a warm heart that is difficult to bring out. The only person who has managed to do so is his wife, Mictecacihuatl, whom he constantly indulges in her whims simply out of love.

Mictlantecuhtli es un hombre de pocas palabras, sumido en su propio trabajo pero algo orgulloso y un poco terco, no es una persona con la que sea fácil lidiar. Aún así, muy en el fondo tiene un corazón cálido que cuesta hacer florecer, la única que lo ha conseguido es su esposa, Mictecacihuatl, a quien complace constantemente en sus caprichos por puro amor.

Mictecacihuatl is a cheerful and lively woman. For the queen of the dead, she is ironically full of life and energy, and she is also a very empathetic ruler toward the souls under her care. She has the distinction of being the only person who has ever managed to make her husband, Mictlantecuhtli, smile, despite the fact that he always looks grumpy.

ESPAÑOL

Mictecacihuatl es una mujer alegre y risueña, para ser la reina de los muertos, irónicamente está llena de vida y energía, además de ser una gobernante muy empática con las almas que están bajo su cuidado. Ostenta el honor de ser la única que ha podido hacer sonreír a su marido, Mictlantecuhtli, quien siempre tiene cara de pocos amigos.
